Precision farming will take centre stage at the renowned Potatoes in Practice event near Dundee next week .
Angus-based tech specialists, SoilEssentials, will use the event to showcase hardware and software developed specifically to benefit potato growers in Scotland and beyond.
Rod Armour, Head of Sales at SoilEssentials states:
“As a firm we are based in the heart of Scotland’s tattie growing east coast, so many of our products and services have been developed with potato growers in mind.”
“We are particularly looking forward to Potatoes in Practice as it is very much a local event for us, and it is always very well supported by professionals across the potato supply chain.”
“It has been great to get out and about to events this year. We were particularly pleased with the interest generated on our stand at the Highland Show. I think visitors were very impressed with how technology that we had talked about as prototype at the previous show in 2019, was there in the metal in 2022 – perhaps that was the only benefit from the enforced Covid break! The AgBot autonomous tractor and our SKAi artificial intelligence sprayer control generated huge interest.”
“At Balruddery for Potatoes in Practice, our team will be on hand to showcase all of our products and services but naturally potato tech will take centre stage.”
“We will also be happy to chat to Potatoes in Practice visitors keen to take advantage of the latest ScotGov financial support for Soil Sampling – our network of samplers covers Scotland.”
Potatoes in Practice takes place on Thursday 11th August at Balruddery, Dundeefrom 0830-1630 and is once again set to be the largest field-basedpotato event in the UK.
