Are you worried about rising costs of fertiliser? Then now might be the perfect time to convert to organic farming and remove this worry. Artificial nitrogen is not required in organic farming, with organic farming working in a natural way to protect soils and biodiversity with fewer artificial inputs.
The Scottish Government has made a manifesto promise to support the growth of organic farming in Scotland, and there are funding provisions to support organic conversion and maintenance in the AECS Scheme.
SOPA Manager and organic farmer, Debs Roberts, said:
“The future of farm policy is very bright for organic farms, and with broad headline interest in soils and biodiversity, there is much opportunity for the natural capital benefits brought about by organic farm management.
“The AECS funding application window closes on 29th April 2022. SOPA (Scottish Organic Producers Association) offer free telephone advice to guide you through the process so call us and we will use all our expertise to keep you right.
