Animal nutrition specialists, Norvite, have today announced the appointment of two new nutritionists to strengthen their technical and commercial teams.
In a significant move, industry renowned Dr Matt Palmer has joined as Technical Manager. Matt graduated from Edinburgh University in 2001 with an Agricultural Sciences degree (with Honours in Animal Science) and worked for two years with a farm consultancy based in the South West of England focusing on support to dairy businesses.
He then returned to Edinburgh University to work on a PhD in the subject area of forage characterisation and ration modelling. This work led to a position with Bioparametrics Ltd., a university roll-out company. Matt has since been with another national feed business for the past 12 years, most recently as Dairy Technical Nutritionist.
Andrea (Andy) Bosio recently graduated from SRUC, having been awarded the Norvite Scholarship for 2018/19. Andy is originally from Italy and moved to Scotland four years ago to study Agriculture at SRUC Edinburgh. During last year’s honours project Andy had the opportunity to work with Prof Jos Houdijk on a nutrient efficiency project in growing and finishing pigs. Andy joins Norvite as a Graduate Trainee Nutritionist.
