Mother’s Day - fresh Scottish-grown flowers delivered to the door

David and Barbara Girvan from Corrimony Farm near Inverness are delighted to offer their flower business, The Wild Acre’s, popular, home-grown seasonal flowers to customers nationwide via their postal delivery service – the perfect gift for Mother’s Day.

The Wild Acre’s flower subscription service offers to ‘bring the outside in’ and allow you, or your special someone, to receive and enjoy beautifully scented, sustainable, high-quality Scottish blooms delivered directly to your door on a monthly, or twice monthly basis, with delivery starting from April 2023.

The Wild Acre flower farm was established in Autumn 2020, when Barbara Girvan expanded her already flourishing Loch Ness Pumpkin business to include sustainable fresh-cut flowers. Building on the success of their first two flower seasons, serving the local area – a nationwide delivery subscription now offers the same beautiful, high-quality flowers to customers at a treat- or gift-friendly 3-month or 6-month subscription, ensuring their home or business is supplied with fresh blooms throughout the summer months.

Just eight miles from Loch Ness, The Wild Acre is based at Corrimony Farm in Glen Urquhart, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Glen Affric hills. Each year David and Barbara Girvan welcome over 10,000 people through their farm gates - between their annual Pick Your Own Sunflower and Pumpkin Patch Festival events. Their farm featured in Series 5 of the BBC 2’s ‘This Farming life’ where crews documented a year that saw their very first Sunflower Afternoon Tea event take place.

Barbara, speaking at the farm, said:

“We are delighted that customers across the UK can enjoy the convenience of The Wild Acre’s seasonal, beautifully scented blooms, cut and arranged by hand arriving as a monthly or twice monthly flower subscription service.

“As sustainable and earth-friendly living becomes a focus for many, The Wild Acre’s flower subscription service offers beauty without the environmental cost of importing fresh flowers from overseas producers.

“Our flowers become available in April so, for Mother’s Day, we send out a posy of dried flowers in March as a reminder of the delightful fresh blooms which will then arrive on the subscription service from April onwards.”

Flower varieties will vary depending on seasonal availability to ensure the best quality and are guaranteed to stay fresh for a minimum of five days, though will often last much longer.

As an introductory offer, valid for purchases until Mother’s Day, any customer purchasing a subscription will be given a FREE FAMILY TICKET and PRIORITY BOOKING for both the ‘Pick Your Own Sunflower’ field and the ‘Pumpkin Patch Festival 2023’ at Corrimony Farm later in 2023.

Barbara also features on the latest episode of the OnFARM podcast, telling her story of how flowers have become a key income stream for the family. The podcast can be found at www.podfollow.com/onfarm
