Agricultural Shows, Highland Games, Game & Country Fairs, Horse Shows and the like are the backbone of the Scottish rural calendar. We list as many of the larger gatherings, those we are aware of, in this email - please get in touch if we have missed any of your favourites; we can give them a special mention in future!
These events are great social occasions and offer terrific opportunities to anyone wishing to market their product or service to a receptive audience.
We've put together a few tips on making the most out of your time as an exhibitor or stallholder:
Employ your cheeriest member of staff! It may sound obvious but they'll be repeating themselves and need to be approachable and friendly - even at the end of a long shift!
Your stand is your shop window and you want your offering to be instantly recognisable across all your publicity material, online and offline. Talk to us about creating a clear, precise and memorable brand.
Research your competitors. Who else is exhibiting? Are your prices in line with theirs?
Decide on your stand layout before the event. Photograph it so you can quickly recreate it on the day.
Use social media before, during and after the event using relevant hashtags. Remember to put your social media handles on your publicity material and on the stand itself. Encourage visitors to share photos/selfies on social media.
Make your words count – prospective customers will scan, rather than read literature so it will need to make an impact. What is unique about your product? What is your Call To Action? Consider using QR codes next to different products so potential customers can learn more at their leisure.
Use professional marketing help when necessary e.g. if you are planning to launch a product at the event, get in touch with us. Connecting products and services with the most relevant audience and conquering the challenge of a new market is a passion and a pleasure at Scene & Herd!
