Instagram – Top Tips

Are you on Instagram? Are you considering it? Are you perhaps a little afraid that you’ll end up down the rabbit hole of trying to get on top of social media and never re-emerge?

Well, we have good news for you! Not only do we have a list of top tips here, but we also have two training sessions now available within our OnFARM Academy training to help you master Instagram.

Firstly, some top tips:

  1. When you post to Instagram, try to remember the 80/20 rule. 80% of your social media posts should inform, educate, and entertain your audience, while only 20% should directly promote your business
  2. The magic number of hashtags to use in an Instagram post used to be considered to be 30. Now, experts advise that you use closer to 10, ensuring that they are totally relevant to what you do.
  3. You have the option on Instagram of choosing a business or a personal profile. Make sure you use a business account so that you can get analytics and insights.

If you would like to learn more about how to create an account, what to post, how to engage with your audience and MUCH more, we have two courses now available on the OnFARM Academy – Using Instagram to Market Your Rural Business and Working with Instagram Influencers.
